The answer is both yes and no. The DVD we provide you with is not a video DVD. It is only a DVD data disc with your JPEG files on it.
Some newer model DVD players do have a slideshow feature built into them but most limit the number of photos that can be loaded. In our experience, most DVD players will not load more than 200 images. The rest of the images will be on the disc if you put the DVD in your computer but the DVD player only has so much memory to load photos into for a slideshow. You will want to refer to your DVD player's manual to find out if your DVD player has this feature and what the limitations are.
That said, there are a number of slideshow creation software products available that would allow you to create a movie for your DVD player to watch on a TV. Some examples are: iDVD ® or Nero PhotoShow ® which allow you to set the order of the photos, how long they display for and allow for the addition of transitions and music to make the viewing experience more enjoyable.
One suggestion we do have is when creating a slideshow is that you really want to take the time to narrow down your selection to the best 200 photos. If you assume that the average photo will be shown on the screen for 3-4 seconds, a 200 photo slideshow will last 10-13 minutes. If you use all 1,800 of your scanned photos, you are going to be asking people to sit through a 90 minute slideshow. Your family and friends love you, but not that much. :)
